From Estonia to the World: Music, Identity & Cultural Bridges. Panel Discussion

  • The Foundation for Estonian Arts and Letters 243 East 34th Street New York, NY, 10016 (map)

As part of the Estonian Cultural Days in New York, this engaging panel brings together internationally touring Estonian artists to explore how music travels across borders and cultures. The conversation will look at what it takes for Estonian musicians to reach global audiences, break into the U.S. market, and represent their culture on international stages.

Together, the panelists will discuss topics such as expanding beyond Estonia, navigating the realities of touring, building sustainable international careers, and the role of music as a form of cultural diplomacy between Europe and the United States. The discussion will also touch on the importance of diaspora communities and the opportunities created through EU–U.S. artistic exchange.

The panel features two internationally recognized Estonian artists: Rita Ray, known for her powerful soul and R&B sound and international touring, and NOËP, whose electronic indie-pop has reached global streaming audiences.

The conversation will be moderated by Elke-Liisa Lõhmus, founder and agent at Liderway Entertainment and creator of the Songwriter Sessions NYC series. With extensive experience bringing Estonian artists to international stages, she will guide a discussion that sits at the intersection of artistry, strategy, and cultural exchange.

Special interactive finale: After the discussion, the audience will be invited to participate in a unique creative moment. Audience members will offer words and ideas, and the artists will transform them into a live song hook on the spot—building a musical bridge together in real time.
